Insights into the mechanism of electrochemical ozone production via water splitting on the Ni and Sb doped SnO2 catalyst.
The H2O splitting mechanism is a very attractive alternative used in electrochemistry for the formation of O3. The most efficient catalysts employed for this reaction at room temperature are SnO2-based, in particular the Ni/Sb-SnO2 catalyst. In order to investigate the H2O splitting mechanism density functional theory (DFT) was performed on a Ni/Sb-SnO2 surface with oxygen vacancies. By calcula...

For overall water-splitting systems, it is essential to establish O2 -insensitive cathodes that allow cogeneration of H2 and O2 . An acid-tolerant electrocatalyst is described, which employs a Mo-coating on a metal surface to achieve selective H2 evolution in the presence of O2 . In operando X-ray absorption spectroscopy identified reduced Pt covered with an amorphous molybdenum oxyhydroxide hy...
متن کاملEfficient Water Electrolysis Using Ni2P as a Bifunctional Catalyst: Unveiling the Oxygen Evolution Catalytic Properties of Ni2P.
The excellent bifunctional catalytic activity of nickel phosphide (Ni2P) for water splitting is reported. Ni2P, an active hydrogen evolving catalyst, is shown to be highly active for oxygen evolution. Only 290 mV of overpotential is required to generate a current density of 10 mA cm(-2) in 1 M KOH. Under oxygen evolving conditions, Ni2P undergoes structural modification to form a Ni2P/NiOx core...

Molybdenum phosphide was adopted as a new electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction for the first time, exhibiting an excellent electrocatalytic activity with a small Tafel slope of 60 mV dec(-1), which is amongst the most active, acid-stable, earth abundant HER electrocatalysts reported to date.

Myoglobin is one of the most commonly used cardiac biomarkers for the clinical diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction, which is the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Herein, we report a novel ‘signal-on’ electrochemical immunosensing system for the quantitative detection of myoglobin without the need for natural enzymes and additional electron mediators. The assay was readily carried out ...
